Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT seeks a seasoned mechanical engineer to support maintenance, troubleshooting, and infrastructure construction at the Groton shipyard and nearby sites. You will design and execute infrastructure projects, manage scope, bid documents, vendor selection, funding, and safety/compliance.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical or Facilities Engineering and at least 5 years of post-graduate experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Facilities Engineering.
• 5+ years of post graduate engineering experience (Senior or above).
• Experience in facilities engineering, plant engineering, or construction.

Responsibilities

• Engineering and developing the scope of work for projects.
• Prepare bid documents and vendor selection.
• Secure funding and prepare purchase requisitions.
• In-field project management of vendors and EB personnel while maintaining the project budget, schedule, and documentation.
• Coordinate with local building officials, safety, environmental, and Naval oversight.
