Job summary

System One in Germantown, Maryland is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with 6+ years of experience to lead end-to-end hardware development for aerospace/high-reliability systems. The role covers concept through production and in-service support.

The successful candidate will apply CAD tools (Creo, SolidWorks), FEA/CFD, and GD&T to ensure manufacturability, reliability, and regulatory compliance, while collaborating across teams to meet schedule and cost targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 6+ years' experience in mechanical/electromechanical design and testing.
• Strong CAD skills in Creo or SolidWorks with FEA/CFD knowledge.
• Familiarity with GD&T and tolerance stack-up.
• Experience with hardware integration for aerospace or high-reliability environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end hardware development from concept to production.
• Perform hand calculations and analytical validation.
• Conduct environmental and performance testing.
• Develop production drawings with GD&T and tolerance analyses.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and FAA/regulatory awareness.
• Own delivery timelines across all phases.
