Job summary

Toyota Material Handling North America is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design and integrate mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and control systems for electric forklift platforms. You’ll lead development activities, create 3D models in Creo, and collaborate with global teams from concept through production.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years of related experience, and strong CAD/PDM skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of mechanical product design and new product development.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (Creo preferred) and PDM systems.
• Experience designing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and control systems for production.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary and global teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead component or system development activities and manage timelines.
• Design, develop, and release mechanical components and integrated systems for new forklift platforms.
• Create 3D models, drawings, and assemblies using Creo and manage data in PDM.
• Engineer welded structures, castings, plastics, electrical hardware, and complex assemblies.
• Perform engineering analysis (FEA) to validate performance and durability.
• Define system requirements and meet performance, cost, quality, manufacturability, and reliability goals.
• Partner with manufacturing, quality, purchasing, supply chain, and testing teams.
