Job summary

Toyota Material Handling seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to help design the next generation of electric and automated forklift systems. You will develop and integrate mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and control systems for innovative material handling equipment from concept through production.

You will create detailed 3D models, engineering drawings and assemblies using Creo, manage product data in PDM, and perform FEA to ensure performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in mechanical product design and new product development.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD (Creo preferred) and PDM systems.
• Experience designing and integrating mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and control systems.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary and global teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead component or system development activities, managing timelines and supporting design reviews.
• Design, develop, and release mechanical components and integrated systems for electric forklifts.
• Create 3D models, drawings, and assemblies using Creo and manage data in PDM.
• Engineer welded structures, castings, plastics, rubber components and electrical hardware.
• Perform FEA to validate structural integrity, durability and performance.
• Define system requirements and develop cost, quality, manufacturability, reliability targets.
• Partner with manufacturing, quality, purchasing, supply chain and testing teams.
• Develop documentation including DFMEAs, BOMs, ECOs and validation plans.
