Astrion in Dahlgren, VA seeks a Mechanical Engineer to create and analyze system- and component-level engineering documentation for hardware and cabling projects. The role uses ASME Y14 standards and 3D modeling tools to produce data packages, installation drawings, and interface documents and to support design updates.

Full-time position with SECRET clearance; up to 20% travel. Salary range $87k–$125k annually. Experience with DoD information systems preferred.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering degree required.
• Experience creating or analyzing system-level and component-level technical engineering documentation per ASME Y14 standards.
• Experience with Technical Data Packages, Installation Control Drawings, and Interface Control Documents used in hardware and cabling/wiring for information and processing systems.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling using Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks.
• Ability to use 3D modeling to perform computations, model and simulate new designs, and facilitate changes to existing designs.
• Experience using state-of-the-art software to create multi-dimensional models of systems and components.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the DoD/Navy clearance required by the final DD254/JPAS.

Responsabilités

• Create and analyze system-level and component-level technical engineering documentation.
• Develop documentation in accordance with ASME Y14 Series Standards.
• Support Technical Data Packages, Installation Control Drawings, and Interface Control Documents.
• Support hardware and cabling/wiring documentation for information and processing systems.
• Use 3D modeling tools such as Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks to perform computations, model and simulate new designs, and facilitate changes to existing designs.
• Use state-of-the-art software to create multi-dimensional models of systems and components.
• Coordinate mechanical engineering products with design, documentation, installation, and Government stakeholders.
