Job summary

Astrion is seeking a Project Engineer (Lead) in Dahlgren, VA, supporting NSWCDD. The role provides technical leadership for systems engineering, design, development, integration, and issue resolution for DoD cyber situational awareness and Navy weapon systems. Up to 25% travel and a Secret clearance are required.

The position requires a BS in engineering or equivalent experience, plus extensive DoD/Navy program leadership experience. Full-time status and a competitive salary are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, science, or technical discipline or 10+ years relevant experience.
• 10+ years of systems engineering, design, and development with weapon, combat, or fire control systems.
• 6+ years leading DoD/Navy enterprise programs or Navy programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide project engineering and technical leadership for a DoD enterprise or Navy program.
• Lead identification, analysis, and resolution of complex systems engineering issues.
• Support systems engineering, design, and development for weapons, combat, or fire control systems.
• Coordinate engineering activities involving cyber situational awareness and Navy weapon systems.
• Integrate engineering work with related disciplines and DevSecOps activities.
• Support integration with multiple Navy surface and submarine platforms and DoD enterprise systems.
• Communicate technical approach, risks, and status to Government and contractor stakeholders.
