Job summary

Generac is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III - Senior Engineer to contribute to cross-functional product development, focusing on design validation, CAD/CAE modeling, and collaboration with manufacturing, sourcing, quality, service, and marketing teams.

The role requires hands-on design experience with various materials and the ability to perform analyses (FEA/CFD) while driving manufacturability and cost improvements. Occasional travel to Generac facilities may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Designs, validates, and brings new products to market.
• Specifies precise new product functional requirements; designs, tests and integrates components; evaluates design for cost, reliability, and safety.
• Develops test plans and validates product specifications and process.
• Collaborates with manufacturing, contract manufacturers, designers and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability.
• Uses CAD/CAE systems to model new designs and produce detailed drawings.
• Supports product development plans (schedule, cost, inputs).
• Mentors less experienced engineers.
• Travels to other Generac facilities as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.
