Job summary

Katalyst CRO is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design, project execution, and manufacturing support, mentoring junior engineers and ensuring high-quality drawings are released to production.

You will collaborate with engineering leadership, support continuous improvement initiatives, and travel to job sites as needed. Proficiency in SolidWorks, 2D CAD, and MS Office, plus strong communication and independence, are essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Strong 2D CAD skills.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience mentoring junior mechanical engineers and supporting large projects.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Mechanical Engineering team meetings to support and improve departmental operations.
• Collaborate with the Mechanical Engineering Manager and other Senior Mechanical Engineers.
• Support systems engineering activities, including approval drawing processes and equipment interfaces.
• Mentor Mechanical Engineers I and II to promote consistent designs and good manufacturing practices.
• Coach, review, and delegate work across large projects.
• Research, plan, develop, and design fabricated and purchased components, including motors, gearboxes, bearings, and structural materials.
• Create production drawings, including detail, assembly, weldment, installation, and modification drawings.
• Use the ERP system to release engineering information to Manufacturing.
• Support Fabrication and Assembly teams with troubleshooting.
• Travel to job sites as needed to gather project information.
• Provide customer support by phone, email, or web to troubleshoot designs and equipment.
• Support the Innovation Center team.
