Job summary

SMS group seeks a seasoned Mechanical Engineer III to define and execute design standards, optimize equipment performance, and improve reliability and manufacturability. You will model, analyze, and draw on a broad set of engineering practices to drive innovative solutions.

The role involves leading small teams, adhering to budgets and schedules, and collaborating with project managers and customers on technical matters. International travel is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• BSME or BSMET from an accredited engineering university.
• 5+ years of engineering experience with emphasis on mechanical design.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of engineering principles, procedures and standards (ASTM/ASME/AWS/DIN).
• Proficient 3D and 2D engineering software; Creo Parametric preferred.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering in the form of models, drawings, feasibility studies, reports, and design calculations with clear objectives.
• Create 3D models and 2D drawings using Creo Parametric.
• Use Ansys Workbench or Creo Simulate for Finite Element Analysis.
• Lead small engineering teams within the department while ensuring cost-effective execution.
• Adhere to budgets and deadlines for engineering projects.
• Interface with project managers, supply chain, customers and suppliers on technical matters.
• Follow engineering policies, standards and security measures.
