Job summary

Centrus Energy Corp. is seeking aMechanical Design Engineer to design and optimize facility piping systems and size mechanical equipment. The role involves preparing technical drawings and specifications, and performing flow, pressure-drop, thermal and stress analyses.

The engineer will support procurement, safety reviews, QA, FAT, field inspections, commissioning, and system troubleshooting to ensure reliable operation and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• At least two years hands-on experience with piping, fluid systems, or process equipment.
• Experience with equipment sizing, calculations, codes and safety practices.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Q security clearance.

Job description

Support procurement, safety reviews, quality assurance, factory acceptance tests, field inspections, commissioning, and system troubleshooting.

Requirements:

Requires a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, plus at least two years of hands-on experience with piping, fluid systems, or process equipment. Candidates should have experience with equipment sizing, calculations, relevant codes and safety practices, and drafting or analysis tools; they must also be able to obtain and maintain a Q security clearance.
