Job summary

Centrus Energy Corp. is seeking aMechanical Engineer to design and optimize facility piping systems, size equipment, and prepare drawings and specifications.

You will perform flow, pressure-drop, thermal, and stress checks under senior guidance while supporting safety, quality reviews, testing, field inspections, and commissioning. The role requires a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field, at least two years of hands-on piping/flow experience, and the ability to obtain a Q

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field, or equivalent education/experience.
• At least two years hands-on experience with piping, fluid systems, or process equipment.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance (Q clearance).

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize facility piping systems and size mechanical equipment.
• Prepare and update technical drawings and specifications.
• Perform flow, pressure-drop, thermal, and stress checks under senior staff guidance.

Job description

Support safety and quality reviews, procurement evaluations, factory acceptance tests, field inspections, commissioning, and troubleshooting under senior staff guidance.

Requirements:

Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and at least two years of hands-on experience with piping, fluid systems, or process equipment. Relevant experience includes equipment sizing, pressure-drop calculations, pipe-stress concepts, applicable codes and safety practices, and exposure to drafting or analysis tools; candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Q security clearance.
