Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer for our global data center engineering team in the United States.

You will design liquid cooling systems and infrastructure, interfacing with product design, civil, field, and operations teams to improve uptime, reliability, and cost efficiency. The role involves collaborating with internal and external partners to develop scalable data center solutions, leading initiatives, and implementing standardized, modular designs.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience.
• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering for mission critical facilities.
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Define and design liquid cooling equipment and related infrastructure.
• Collaborate with internal and external ecosystem partners to design data center solutions.
• Support field engineering and data center operation teams for root cause analysis.
• Leverage standardization and modularization to achieve scale.
• Develop technical design procedures for piping and pipe support analysis.
• Provide SME guidance to peers and management.
• Create business justification and narratives for new concepts.
• Lead key initiatives with ownership and cross-functional teams.
• Work with global suppliers to specify mechanical sub components.
• Write functional specs, verification plans and test procedures.
• Travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field

Professional Engineering or Architectural License
