Job summary

Strategic Mission Critical is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to oversee on-site data center design and construction efforts in the Fargo, ND area. You will coordinate with contractors, clients, and the in-house design team to ensure timely delivery and high-quality execution across multiple sites.

The role requires extensive HVAC expertise, commissioning experience, and strong communication skills to lead a remote team and mentor junior staff while meeting demanding project deadlines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years in HVAC design, construction, and/or commissioning.
• Experience with large industrial and commercial projects is preferred.
• PE license preferred; otherwise significant on-the-job experience qualifies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee on-site execution of design work and coordinate with contractors, clients, and design partners.
• Conduct regular site walks and review RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings with timely responses.
• Lead commissioning activities (level 4/5) and ensure alignment with project schedules.
• Mentor engineers, designers and modelers to build field knowledge.
• Maintain organization and manage multiple priorities across sites.
