Job summary

Strategic Mission Critical in Dallas–Fort Worth seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design for mission-critical data centers. You will drive concept discussions, develop design plans and specs for permitting and construction, and coordinate with electrical, fire protection, plumbing, and architectural teams.

The role demands extensive HVAC design experience with Revit, strong leadership, and ability to mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in mechanical engineering or architectural engineering with a mechanical focus; 2-year degrees considered with experience.
• Minimum 8 years of HVAC design experience, especially with Autodesk Revit.
• Experience in electrical design for large industrial/commercial buildings a plus; mission-critical design preferred.
• Experience developing detailed mechanical calculations and using calculation software.
• Experience across the full construction process from schematic design to field observations and punch lists.
• Experience leading mechanical design teams and interfacing with clients; strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of controls and monitoring systems; familiarity with Procore and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• Professional Engineer license preferred; unlicensed candidates with relevant on-the-job experience welcome.

Responsibilities

• Direct and execute mechanical design for mission-critical projects with cross-discipline coordination.
• Lead design teams and mentor engineers, designers and modelers.
• Produce detailed design documents using Autodesk Revit and develop SOO/controls specifications.
• Perform airside and hydronic calculations and review hydronic & airflow diagrams.
• Coordinate with electrical, fire protection, plumbing, and architectural leads; ensure schedules are met.
• Understand local/national codes and coordinate with project teams using Procore and AEC tools.
• Travel approximately 10–20% to project sites as required.
