Job summary

Etched is seeking a seasoned Mechanical Engineer to translate complex, high-power data center concepts into reliable, production-ready hardware. You will lead chassis and enclosure design from concept through production, collaborating with JDM partners and internal teams to achieve demanding performance, cooling, and durability targets.

You will apply deep mechanical design knowledge, CAD proficiency, and DFM practices to optimize manufacturability and cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; advanced degrees/certifications a plus.
• 10+ years in mechanical engineering focused on high-power data center products; chassis/enclosures experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine mechanical designs for high-power data center products, ensuring robust performance and reliability.
• Work with internal design teams and external partners (JDMs) for integration into product architecture.
• Lead data center chassis/enclosures design from concept to production, focusing on high power, cooling, and ruggedness.
• Oversee soft and hard tooling development to support mass production with strict quality standards.
• Ensure designs comply with manufacturing requirements, including shock and vibration testing.
• Translate industrial design concepts into manufacturable production-ready solutions.
• Apply DFM principles to optimize for cost-effective manufacturing, assembly, and maintenance.
