Job summary

City and County of Honolulu is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to plan and coordinate construction procedures on major municipal projects. You will prepare progress and cost reports, and present scopes of work to city agencies, utility partners, and the public.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, at least three years of professional mechanical engineering experience, and Hawaii licensure as a professional engineer. A Type 3 driver's license is also required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• Three years of non-registered professional mechanical engineering experience.
• Possession of a Hawaii professional mechanical engineer license.
• Possession of a Type 3 driver’s license.
• Must be a citizen, national or eligible for unrestricted employment in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate construction procedures and activities with City and County, State, utility companies, engineering firms, contractors, and the public.
• Coordinate and make presentations to government agencies and community groups on the scopes of work and schedules of construction projects.
• Prepare and oversee the preparation of work progress and cost reports for complex and major construction projects.
