Job summary

Stoke Space is hiring a Mechanical Engineer to develop packaging for flight avionics and integrate harness routing with the launch vehicle. You will collaborate with avionics, structures, and production teams to craft robust mechanical solutions for highly reusable space systems.

The role demands hands-on design, analysis, and test of hardware from concept through to flight qualification, with a focus on manufacturability and reliability in extreme environments.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent).
• 3+ years in mechanical/electromechanical design & analysis (internships counted).
• Proficiency with parametric 3D CAD and 2D drawings.
• Experience taking hardware from concept through design, analysis, fabrication, test.

Responsibilities

• Design, manufacture, and test packaging for flight avionics, electronics, and electro-mechanical actuators.
• Design, manufacture, analyze, and integrate wiring harness routing and secondary structure; create CAD models and drawings.
• Perform thermal, structural, and tolerance analyses for electromechanical assemblies using hand calculations and FEA.
• Failure analysis of components related to thermal, loads, vibration and shock.
• Interface with machine shops to implement DFM and produce hardware for qualification and flight.
• Own hardware delivery timeline from inception to integration.
• Lead design reviews internally and externally.
• Drive lean initiatives to increase throughput and reduce launch cost.
