Job summary

Lumicity in Fremont, CA seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of complex mechanical and electromechanical systems. You will own CAD models, BOMs, drawings, and specifications while driving system integration, testing, and continuous improvement.

Ideal candidates have a BS in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years designing sophisticated equipment, with strong GD&T, CAD (SolidWorks/SolidWorks PDM), and hands-on experience in automation and validation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of mechanical systems design and development experience.
• 5+ years CAD experience, preferably SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM.
• 5+ years designing complex equipment, machinery, or automated systems.
• Strong GD&T and engineering drawing skills.
• Experience with thermal analysis, FEA, CFD, and simulation tools.
• Hands-on experience integrating and testing complex electromechanical systems.
• Strong systems-level problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of mechanical, electromechanical, and motion-control systems.
• Perform GD&T, tolerance analysis, and design evaluations at the system and subsystem levels.
• Lead system integration, validation, testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause investigations.
• Drive improvements in performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
• Own CAD models, BOMs, drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
• Coordinate fabrication, assembly, installation, integration, and testing.
• Manage engineering projects from concept through production.
• Collaborate with Hardware, Software, Process, and Quality Engineering teams.
• Work hands-on to build, integrate, test, and troubleshoot new systems.
