Job summary

Koch Finishing Systems seeks a Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and execution of automated paint finishing projects. You will collaborate with customers, estimators, project managers, and internal teams from conception to completion, ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence, and compliance with customer specs.

Responsibilities include leading design reviews, producing system layouts and P&IDs, and guiding procurement and installation activities while ensuring safety and regulatory

Qualifications

• Demonstrated innovation and continuous improvement mindset.
• Travel domestically and internationally.
• Second language proficiency is a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Office required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with estimating team during preliminary engineering, project pursuit and proposal phases.
• Take accountability for all design aspects of projects and supervise engineering and design team members.
• Prepare comprehensive system layouts, floor plans, P&IDs, and mass balances for major projects.
• Provide engineering leadership throughout design reviews, quality inspections, installation, and startup phases.
• Ensure equipment and materials meet contract performance objectives, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
• Size and specify equipment and design elements, and order cost-efficient equipment as needed.
• Prepare purchase specifications, develop BOMs, and support equipment expediting.
• Assist manufacturing and field activities with technical interpretations and problem-solving.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and industrial safety standards are met in all designs and specifications.
• Organize and conduct reviews and problem-solving sessions within the organization.
