Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company in New Stanton seeks a Principal Mechanical Engineer to support the WPB Procurement Engineering team. This role focuses on spare parts for operating plant mechanical products, with on-site work 2-3 days per week and collaboration across quality, supply chain, and manufacturing.

You will report to the Manager of Procurement Engineering. This is a mobile role that is expected on site in New Stanton at least 2-3 days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Working knowledge of ASME Section III and/or VIII.
• Experience generating ASME Design Specifications and Reports.
• Experience with fabrication of ASME code components is a plus.
• Knowledge of mechanical components including pumps, valves, motors, seals is preferred.
• SAP knowledge, especially production, requisitioning, and material master.
• Experience writing procurement specifications for equipment is a plus.
• Familiarity with the AP1000 design process is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review technical packages for mechanical products.
• Collaborate with QA, supply chain, marketing, customer service, and suppliers.
• Provide input during proposals.
• Develop SAP Material Master Data and Parts Baselines.
• Determine critical equipment characteristics for qualification and commercial dedication.
• Assist in equipment qualification test procedures and report reviews.
• Prepare Commercial Dedication Instructions.
• Support manufacturing and shop operations with engineering input.
• Perform ASME III and/or VIII activities including design specs and submittal reviews.
