Job summary

Platform Aerospace is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III to advance research, prototype development, and integration of mechanical design enhancements for aircraft and payloads in Hollywood, MD.

The role includes structural analysis, CAD tasks using SolidWorks, and coordination of manufacturing, installation, and testing to ensure compliance with gov't and FAA guidelines. You will lead junior engineers while collaborating with customers and leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of relevant work experience, or a master's degree with 2+ years of experience.
• Experience with CAD programs and SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Confer with engineers, customers, and leadership on projects and products.
• Design, implement, maintain, and improve structural installations and systems for aircraft and support equipment.
• Operate CAD software to perform engineering tasks.
• Coordinate manufacturing, assembly, installation, testing to meet specifications and customer requirements.
• Plan installation of aircraft assemblies for structural components.
• Maintain knowledge of government guidelines for aircraft structural installations.
• Maintain knowledge of FAA guidelines for aircraft structural installations.
• Prepare project cost and schedule estimates.
• Provide field support for installation, removal, and testing of projects.
• Lead project engineers and oversee junior engineers on assigned tasks.
