Job summary

AMETEK SFMS in Wilmington, MA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our aerospace-friendly team focused on pressure sensors and electromechanical devices. You will design, simulate, test, and document innovative sensor solutions within a manufacturing environment.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering and 10+ years in regulated industries, with strong FEA skills, SolidWorks proficiency, and experience in GD&T and ARAS Innovator. US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 10+ years designing electromechanical sensing devices in regulated industries.
• Proficient in FEA to verify design margins under static, thermal, and vibratory loads.
• Knowledge of aerospace components and standards is a plus.
• SolidWorks 2020 or later.
• Experience with GD&T (ASME 14.5).
• Experience with CFD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, manufacture, test & certify electromechanical sensing devices such as pressure sensors, RTDs, thermocouples, speed sensors, and cables.
• Develop new technologies to sustain competitive advantage in a multidisciplinary team.
• Create 3D models in SolidWorks with specified materials and assembly methods.
• Produce and issue technical documentation including design reports, FMEA, test procedures, and test reports.
• Perform Structural, Thermal, Fatigue, and Dimensional analyses (FEM/hand calculations).
• Review customer/industry specifications to support bid and product designs.
• Integrate design for Six Sigma, reliability & manufacturability into product designs.
