Divergent is building the next industrial age in Los Angeles, where a Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead the development of complex mechanical systems for Monolith One and related equipment. You will own major design efforts from concept to validation and release, mentoring engineers and coordinating with manufacturing and suppliers.

The role requires strong 3D CAD, GD&T, and hands-on prototyping, with responsibilities spanning problem definition, interfaces, risk mitigation, and production

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to independently develop complex mechanical systems from concept through release.
• Strong 3D CAD, engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and design for manufacturability and assembly.
• Broad understanding of mechanical fundamentals and applying them to multidisciplinary design problems.
• Hands-on experience developing prototypes and integrating, testing, and troubleshooting mechanical equipment.

Responsabilités

• Own assigned mechanical systems from problem definition through release, integration, and validation.
• Translate technical and operational needs into clear requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Develop concepts and detailed designs using CAD models, drawings, GD&T, tolerance analyses, BOMs, and component selections.
• Lead cross-functional coordination with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and suppliers.
• Maintain technical documentation and drive design changes through release and deployment.
