This is a full-time position located in our Boston, MA, Rocky Hill, CT, Bedford, NH, or Portland, ME office.

  • Assist in identifying technical issues and approaches for evaluation for specific projects and for broader application in the practice.
  • Be familiar with local, state, and federal regulations applicable to geothermal heating and cooling.
  • Serve as Project Manager to track project budgets and schedules, and provide mentoring to support staff involved in geothermal feasibility studies, field monitoring of drilling, pilot testing, geothermal exchanger installation, and sampling and analysis in connection with permitting, schematic design and detailed design development.
  • Support Construction Administration for the geothermal practice, including review of bids, submittals, practice questions and comments, and requests for information (RFIs).
  • Review and edit electronic and written documentation by others of project-related activities in the field and office.
  • Support the design development process, including preparing plans, details, specifications, and technical sections of project communications, work plans, and reports including interface with other technical disciplines supporting the built environment.
  • Perform work in accordance with company and client Health & Safety protocols.
  • Comply with the Guiding Principles and Code of Behavior articulated in our Company Charter.
Skills/Experience

Minimum Skills and Requirements:

  • Minimum of Bachelor of science in civil, environmental, or mechanical engineering. Master’s degree in engineering or engineering management preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of engineering consulting experience, including geothermal feasibility studies, design development.
  • Experience with geothermal feasibility studies and design development and closed-loop hydronic and open pumping system designs is a plus.
  • Strong foundation in pipe hydraulics for pump sizing and geothermal borefield design. Professional Engineer license is required, or ability to obtain reciprocity within six months, in MA, NH, CT, ME, or NY.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience, with a proven track record of meeting project outcome targets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer Skills – Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in industry standard software; ArcGIS is a plus.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred but not required.
