Job summary

Coffman Engineers’ Scottsdale, Arizona office seeks an energetic Mechanical Engineer with 10+ years in HVAC and plumbing design. You will lead a small team, consult with architects and contractors, and contribute to multi‑discipline projects for hospitals, commercial buildings, and government facilities.

This role offers leadership growth and a hybrid work schedule. Applicants should hold a BS in mechanical engineering and a PE license, with expertise in AutoCAD, Revit, and energy modeling tools

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical engineering with Thermodynamics/Fluid Mechanics/Heat Transfer focus.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in HVAC and plumbing design.
• 10+ years of consulting engineering in Architectural/Engineering/Contractor Industry.

We are seeking an energetic and self-motivated Mechanical Engineer with ten plus years of experience. The successful individual will have extensive experience in the design of HVAC and plumbing systems for hospitals, commercial buildings, government projects, and industrial facilities. In addition, the individual should be comfortable consulting to architectural practices, contractors, and other engineers, and have a desire to work on a multi‑discipline engineering team.

Compensation and Benefits

• Approximate Base Salary – $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 based on experience.
• Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate.
• Generous end of year discretionary bonus based on company/team/personal performance.
• Hybrid Work Schedule (subject to change).
• 401k with maximum of 5% Contribution Matching for 9% Employee Contribution.

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical engineering or related field with a focus in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and/or refrigeration from an accredited college (required).
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (required).
• Minimum 10 years of experience executing HVAC and plumbing designs (required).
• Minimum 10 years of consulting engineering experience in the Architectural/Engineering/Contractor Industry (required).
• Familiarity with relevant codes: mechanical, energy, plumbing, ASHRAE, SMACNA, USGBC, among others.
• Comfortable writing technical reports, professional documents, and budget tracking.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Energy Modeling software such as EnergyPro and IES.
• Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Expected Salary Range: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00
