Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer who is a seasoned engineering professional with strong technical capabilities, communication skills, and a proven ability to lead, coordinate, and manage projects.The ideal candidate typically oversees two to four smaller-scale projects independently and plays a lead design role on larger infrastructure upgrade and base-building projects.Advancement beyond this role involves increased technical leadership and strategic responsibility.We offer excellent benefits including full medical coverage, 401(k) plan, reimbursement of tuition charges for continuing education and seminars and a competitive salary commensurate with experience.

Expected Salary: $100,000 - $120,000

Responsibilities

·Serve as lead engineer on tenant fit-out projects and contribute as principal designer on mechanical infrastructure or base building work for commercial and critical systems projects (HVAC design).

·Develop plans, schematics, riser diagrams, equipment selections, load calculations, system narratives, specifications, and layouts.

·Utilize AutoCAD and BIM/REVIT modeling for system design.

·Conduct project site surveys, record technical information and assess existing Mechanical systems.

·Prepare due diligence and feasibility reports, as well as interpret proposal documents to establish design parameters and prepare Basis of Design documents.

·Conduct site visits, review RFIs and submittals, and perform punchlist walkthroughs with minimal oversight to ensure proper execution of the design intent.

·Communicate internally with engineers, external equipment vendors, other consultants and clients.

·Work closely with the entire design team to ensure project success, including monitoring task completion across the project team, holding team members accountable for deadlines

·Participate in the QA/QC process for work completed by junior engineering staff.

Qualifications

·Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

·6 - 9 years of hands-on design experience working at an MEP engineering consulting firm

·EIT or PE registration a plus

·Proficient with AutoCAD and/or REVIT

·Strong technical writing and communication skills

·Strong ability to work in changing environments and adapt to varying working environments

·This position will require travel outside the tristate area as needed (approx. 10% of the time)

·Valid driver’s license and vehicle transportation preferred
