Senior Mechanical Engineer

Missoula, MT · Salt Lake City, UT (Hybrid / Remote possible)

Senior Mechanical Engineers are experienced PEs with demonstrated experience leading a team of engineers and designers on simultaneous multi-disciplined projects. They have a proven ability to communicate across an extensive design team both internally and externally, deliver successful construction documents that are complete, concise, on time and achieve successful end results.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Active PE license
• 10+ years experience, 2+ years as PE
• AutoDESK Revit knowledge preferred
• Knowledge of relevant national codes

Responsibilities

• Leading and producing technical project plans, specifications, drawings, and models for HVAC and Plumbing systems
• Perform and evaluate all appropriate calculations required for design packages and verify all applicable codes have been incorporated
• Effectively lead and mentor the Mechanical Engineering staff with emphasis on employee growth, project success, and overall performance
• Apply standard design techniques and procedures, exercising judgment in making adaptations and modifications to design concepts
• Coordinate with other design disciplines (Structural, Electrical, Architectural, etc.) for design package needs
• Perform field verifications and site walks to identify, verify, resolve, and incorporate solutions into design packages
• Direct experience in Air-Side HVAC, Wet-Side HVAC, Plumbing systems and Controls Systems

Additional Responsibilities

• Project management including client communication, schedule/budget management
• Bi-weekly project status reports
• Site surveys, subcontractor meetings, client presentations
• Interface with government agencies and code officials
