Job summary

Intuitive Research and Technology Corporation (INTUITIVE®) seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to contribute to ARMY and other DoD programs, guiding technical execution and interfacing with customers and program managers. Proficiency with SolidWorks, CATIA, or Creo to detail designs and substantiate airworthiness is required.

You will lead requirements definition, design, analysis, and data package development, plus manufacturing support and system integration across multi-disciplinary teams

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years' engineering experience.
• Background in Mechanical/Aerospace design and analysis.
• Experience with Classical and Finite Element Analysis Methods.
• Some travel
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
• Knowledge of DOD TDP practices and ASME drawing standards (preferred).
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principals.

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer that will work independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team throughout the life cycle of a program. The daily responsibilities will evolve as the current needs of assigned programs evolve and include requirements definition, design, analysis, technical data package development, manufacturing support, integration, and testing. You will have the opportunity to directly interface with customers on multiple fast paced programs in support of ARMY and other department of defense customers and directly contribute to the success of these programs. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will assist/lead the technical execution of projects involving multi-disciplinary engineering teams. You will work with both customers and internal program managers to define expectations, schedule, and goals on various projects. You will exercise knowledge and experience of advanced CAD (Computer-Aided Design) programs such as SolidWorks, CATIA (Computer-Aided Three-dimensional Interactive Application), or PTC Creo to detail designs and preform required analysis to substantiate the airworthiness of developed solutions. In this role, you will be exposed to the entire design/development process and have the ability to influence program execution strategy.

Requirements

• Required ABET accredited BS in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
• Minimum 10 years' experience performing engineering-related duties
• Background in Mechanical/Aerospace design and analysis
• Experience with Classical and Finite Element Analysis Methods
• Some travel
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain security clearance
• Desired Knowledge of DOD Technical Data Package practices and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Drawing Standards
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principals
• Functional knowledge of Aerospace Structural Design and Analysis IAW MIL-STD-8591
• Experience in design and analysis of thermal systems
