Job summary

TERZO POWER SYSTEMS LLC in California seeks an experienced mechanical design engineer to lead development from prototypes to production, collaborating with quality and design teams to scale products and support manufacturing. The role requires hands-on design ownership and cross-functional problem solving.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in mechanical design, a BS in engineering, proficiency in SolidWorks, and hands-on experience producing manufacturing/customer drawings.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of mechanical design and project experience.
  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or related degree.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks.
  • Experience in creating drawings for manufacturing, customers, prototypes, etc.
  • Project management experience bringing products to market.
  • Customer facing communication with design and quality engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Design, manage, oversee projects including development of prototypes, scaling products to production, and providing manufacturing support.
  • Lead design reviews for new product development.
  • Develop and perform validation testing procedures on mechanical and electronic systems.
  • Generate engineering documentation for all stages of product development.
  • Work with suppliers to purchase and qualify components.
  • Participate in failure analysis and root cause determination.
  • Lead certification testing (UL, CE, etc.).

  • Familiarity with machining, manufacturing, and automation systems
  • Familiarity with brushless DC motor control
  • Familiarity with UL, ISO, and similar standards

Job Type: Full-time, onsite

Compensation: $120,000 - $140,000 annual salary DOE
