M / E Engineering is currently hiring for a Senior Mechanical Engineer in our Rochester, NY office. We are a full-service MEP engineering firm providing design and technology services to our clients. Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional attitude, demonstrating interest in M / E's reputation and growth.
• Serve as a fully competent engineer in all conventional aspects of the assigned area.
• Plan and execute work requiring judgment in evaluation, selection, adoption, and modification of standard techniques and procedures.
• Collaborate with the Principal, Associate, or Project Manager to finalize project scope and schedule of deliverables, understanding project priorities.
• Apply advanced practices and techniques, analyze data, recognize discrepancies, and oversee projects through various phases including program, schematic, design development, construction documents, bidding, and construction.
• Supervise, coordinate, and review work performed by team members.
• Schedule and assign work to meet project deadlines.
• Develop reports, studies, and system analyses.
• Work efficiently and make sound decisions.
• Evaluate applications of substitute equipment.
• Review final adjustments of equipment and systems post-installation.
• Communicate directly with clients on non-controversial matters.
• Represent the firm at meetings, covering all trades, with follow-through as needed.
• Collaborate with other engineers and designers on projects.
• Estimate workforce needs, schedule, assign work, and update the project manager on progress and resource availability.
• Mentor and train junior engineers and designers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Preferably hold a Professional Engineering License (P.E.) or be an Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) working towards P.E. licensure.
• Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent.
• At least eight years of experience in responsible project design within the discipline, along with relevant courses, training, or seminars in Engineering and Management.

Compensation Range

• The salary range for this position is $87,360 to $120,000 per year.
