Our client is a growing technology company developing innovative hardware for sustainable energy and natural resource applications.
We are looking for a hands-on Senior Mechanical Engineer who enjoys taking hardware from concept → design → prototype → fabrication → testing → field deployment.
You’ll work closely with mechanical, electrical, power electronics, and geoscience engineers to build and test real-world systems in a fast-moving R&D environment.
What You'll Do
- Own mechanical design and development of components, assemblies, enclosures, pressure housings, and structural hardware.
- Take designs through the full design-build-test cycle.
- Design and build prototypes and test equipment using SolidWorks.
- Work with machine shops, fabricators, and vendors to manufacture parts.
- Perform engineering calculations, FEA, material selection, and design validation.
- Integrate mechanical hardware with electrical systems, sensors, wiring, and cabling.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electromechanical systems during testing.
- Improve designs based on test results and field feedback.
- Support equipment installation, commissioning, and field testing.
- Work across multiple engineering disciplines to solve challenging hardware problems.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Strong SolidWorks / 3D CAD experience.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping, fabrication, machining, assembly, and testing.
- Experience developing physical hardware in an R&D, startup, or product-development environment.
- Experience working with machine shops, vendors, and manufacturing partners.
- Experience with electromechanical systems and hardware integration.
- Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals and problem-solving skills.
Nice to Have
- Pressure vessels or pressure systems
- High-temperature or harsh-environment hardware
- Power electronics or high-voltage hardware
- FEA / simulation
- Sensors and data-acquisition systems
- Welding, machining, or other hands-on fabrication
- Field testing or equipment commissioning
Why This Opportunity?
This is an opportunity to build real hardware, not just create CAD models. You’ll have significant ownership over mechanical systems and see your designs move from the drawing board into prototypes, testing, and field deployment.
