Job summary

OSI Systems, Inc. in Richardson, TX is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Designer to design and draft complex mechanical and electronic equipment, using Inventor and AutoCAD.

You will create 2D/3D CAD drawings and develop detailed designs for industrial RF technology products. Requires an Associate’s Degree in design/drafting, 6+ years CAD experience, and proficiency in Inventor/AutoCAD. Willingness to travel up to 5% and ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate's Degree required with design/drafting.
• Minimum of 6 years of CAD (3D & 2D drafting) experience
• Proficient in AutoDesk Inventor and AutoCAD
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task
• Proactive work-ethic and take ownership of work
• Selected candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance issued by the U.S. Government throughout the course of their employment.

Responsibilities

• Designs complex mechanical and electronic equipment such as plumbing, pumps, drive systems, pneumatics, and sheet metal with minimal supervision
• Creates detailed, piece part drawings and Bill of Materials
• Performs complex CAD design and documentation operations
• Maintains current knowledge of practical fabrication techniques
• Performs work involving originality and application of advanced drafting techniques
• Considers and analyzes design factors such as correct functioning, strength-weight efficiency, availability of materials and equipment, ease of fabrication and interchangeability
