OSI Systems, Inc. in Richardson, TX is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Designer to create and update complex mechanical and electronic equipment using Inventor and AutoCAD.

The role requires strong CAD skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a low-volume, high-mix shop. The position includes travel up to 5% and requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Candidates should be detail-oriented and capable of producing precise 2D and 3D drawings for

Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate's Degree required with design/drafting.
• Proficient in AutoDesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task; proactive work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Designs complex mechanical and electronic equipment such as plumbing, pumps, drive systems, pneumatics, and sheet metal with minimal supervision.
• Creates detailed, piece part drawings and Bill of Materials
• Performs complex CAD design and documentation operations
• Maintains current knowledge of practical fabrication techniques
• Performs work involving originality and application of advanced drafting techniques
• Considers and analyzes design factors such as correct functioning, strength-weight efficiency, availability of materials and equipment, ease of fabrication and interchangeability
