Job summary

Meade is seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer III to join our Mechanical design team. The role focuses on data centers, industrial buildings, offices, and other high-profile projects.

You will collaborate with Meade staff, clients, vendors, and external disciplines to deliver integrated designs. Responsibilities include designing HVAC and plumbing systems in Revit, performing load calculations, and coordinating across disciplines to ensure seamless integration.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in MEP mechanical design.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in HVAC design software (AutoCAD, Revit, load software).
• Familiarity with HVAC codes, standards, and best practices.
• Strong communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design and document mechanical and plumbing systems using Revit for data centers, industrial buildings, and offices.
• Develop HVAC and plumbing layouts in Revit including ductwork, piping, and equipment placement.
• Perform load calculations and system optimization for accuracy.
• Coordinate with architects and other engineers to integrate mechanical systems in models.
• Prepare specifications and select equipment with cost-effectiveness and energy efficiency in mind.
• Review submittals, RFIs, and change orders; participate in site visits and commissioning work.
• Ensure designs comply with building codes and sustainability requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and vendors to resolve technical challenges.
• Stay updated on Revit and HVAC industry trends to improve workflow.
