Job summary

Bühler Gruppe seeks an experienced Mechanical Designer with 10+ years to lead concept-to-execution design for Bühler equipment at customer sites. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure fit, safety, and performance, delivering high-quality models and drawings using Inventor and AutoCAD.

Role emphasizes mentorship of other designers, adherence to budgets and timelines, and close collaboration with suppliers and customers to drive impactful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years of relevant work experience.
• Proficient in engineering drafting and drawings.
• Knowledge of welding, sheet metal forming, and press operations.
• Awareness of machine safety codes for food equipment.
• Proficient in GD&T; Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Windchill.

Responsibilities

• Lead design from concept to execution to meet project specifications.
• Produce high-quality equipment models and manufacturing drawings using Inventor.
• Generate sales drawings using Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Ensure proper fit and function; present work with rationale and feedback.
• Manage workload priorities to meet budgets and timelines.
• Resolve discrepancies during design and manufacture of Bühler equipment.
• Mentor and guide other designers through critique and coaching.
• Participate in project meetings with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.
• Complete design tasks arising from equipment installation issues at customer sites.
