Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI) in Chapel Hill seeks a Mechanical Senior Designer to craft energy-efficient building systems from concept to detail.

You will interpret basis of design data, user input, and codes to develop robust HVAC solutions for healthcare, science, and education facilities. You will collaborate across disciplines, mentor junior designers, and ensure designs meet project goals and schedules.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in HVAC or Architectural Design or equivalent experience is required.
• 5+ years of experience in HVAC design.
• Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD required.
• Understanding of applicable design codes and specification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Establish design criteria and develop system designs from concept plans and basis of design information.
• Interpret information gathered from users, project partners, field surveys and code research.
• Collaborate with team to ensure designs meet project goals and schedules.
• Support senior designers and mentor junior staff as needed.
