Job summary

GFT in Marlton, NJ is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Designer to join the Buildings + Places Team. You will design HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, produce layouts, and select equipment while coordinating with clients and project teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• HVAC design skills including load calculations and equipment performance.
• Plumbing design including water supply and drainage layouts and ASPE guidance.
• Knowledge of applicable codes; BIM/REVIT integration.

Responsibilities

• Design building HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems with calculations, layouts, sizing, equipment selections, and specs.
• Lead and participate in client, agency, and cross-disciplinary meetings.
• Deliver projects on time and within client budgets.
• Ensure work complies with quality procedures and engineering guidelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple disciplines.
• Document work in REVIT.
• Provide construction administration on-site, shop drawing reviews, and RFI responses.
• Conduct site surveys and assess existing mechanical systems.
