Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to support data center projects. You will develop Revit/BIM models and construction documents for mechanical systems, focusing on HVAC and hydronic layouts. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams will be essential to deliver integrated, high-quality designs.

You will mentor junior designers, participate in model coordination, and contribute to design reviews within a fast-paced, hybrid work environment across U.S. offices and remote sites.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Design or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 6+ years mechanical design experience, preferably in mission-critical or industrial facilities.
• Strong proficiency in Revit and BIM modeling for mechanical systems.
• Experience developing construction documents for HVAC and hydronic systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop Revit/BIM models and construction documents for mechanical systems on data center projects.
• Support layout and design of HVAC and hydronic systems, including chilled/hydronic water systems.
• Assist in development of design criteria and basis of design documentation.
• Prepare conceptual and preliminary designs with flow diagrams and general arrangements.
• Perform ductwork and piping layout based on load requirements and system diagrams.
• Produce detailed construction documents with plans, sections, and system details.
• Coordinate with electrical, structural, and architectural teams for integrated designs.
• Participate in model coordination and clash detection (NavisWorks/Revizto).
• Support design reviews and quality control processes.
• Mentor and guide junior designers.
