Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to support our data center projects. You will develop Revit/BIM models and construction documents for mechanical systems, focusing on HVAC and hydronic layouts within fast-paced, critical facilities.

You will collaborate with electrical, structural, and architectural teams, coordinate model clashes, and contribute to design reviews while mentoring junior designers. Hybrid work options are available to balance on-site project needs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Design or related field.
• 6+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Strong proficiency in Revit and BIM modeling.
• Experience developing construction documents for HVAC and hydronic systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop Revit/BIM models and construction documents for mechanical systems on data center projects.
• Support layout and design of HVAC and hydronic systems, including chilled and cooling water.
• Prepare conceptual and preliminary designs with flow diagrams and general arrangements.
• Perform ductwork and piping layout based on load requirements and equipment configs.
• Produce detailed construction documents: plans, sections, system details.
• Coordinate with electrical, structural, architectural teams for integrated designs.
• Participate in model coordination and clash detection (NavisWorks/Revizto).
• Support design reviews and quality control processes.
• Mentor and guide junior designers.
