Job summary

Safran is seeking a Mechanical Designer III in Irvine, CA to create assembly layouts and detailed drawings, update ECO and drawings, and manage documentation in the PDM/Enovia system. The role supports development and legacy programs with a focus on CAD accuracy and manufacturability.

The candidate will define manufacturing information on drawings, perform reviews, and ensure on-time project delivery while providing technical support across teams, with potential travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical component design and detailing experience using CAD.
• Experience as a Mechanical Designer is a plus.
• Proficient in Solidworks, NX, or other 3D CAD tool.
• Knowledge of GD&T
• Knowledge of the industry drafting standards and practices: ASME Y 14.5

Responsibilities

• Create and check assembly layouts and detail part drawings for new projects and legacy programs.
• Ensure that drawings are clear, accurate and neat and follow industry drafting standards.
• Define required manufacturing information on drawings to permit fabrication and inspection of product.
• Maintain project 3D models and drawings using Enovia.
• Perform customer print reviews and identify necessary changes to drawings.
• Ensure the successful completion of assigned projects to meet on-time commitments.
• Provide technical support to various personnel as needed. Assist operators as required.
• Other duties may be assigned.
