Job summary

Safran is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I in California to design, develop, and test mechanical components, driving innovation, cost control, and on-time delivery. The role emphasizes applying engineering principles to both sellable and internal products.

You will collaborate with diverse engineering teams on electromechanical content, perform drafting and documentation, and support manufacturing, testing, and product support activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
• 0–3 years of related experience in a similar role
• SolidWorks experience

Responsibilities

• Component and simple assembly design
• Product development activities ranging from conceptual development, prototyping, and design validation to manufacturing and existing product support
• Collaboration with engineers of various disciplines to develop products with electromechanical and mechanical content
• Mechanical drafting and technical document authoring
• Conduct tests, design manufacturing fixtures, support senior colleagues
• May include involvement in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of products as required to accomplish company goals
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
