Job summary

Sumitomo Drive Technologies in Verona, VA is seeking a designer to prepare and review general arrangement drawings for orders. You will generate 3D models and 2D drawings for equipment, supporting order requirements and maintaining schedules.

The role requires 7+ years of experience, knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor, and a background in Mechanical Power Transmission or rotating equipment. This is a full-time, on-site position with benefits and a focus on accuracy and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Seven (7+) years of experience as a designer or mechanical drafter.
• Experience in Mechanical Power Transmission and rotating equipment (ideally gearboxes).
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor.

Responsibilities

• Generate 3D models and 2D approval and certified drawings for equipment quoted or sold to customers.
• Design and develop medium to heavy complexity projects with supervision, providing sales order support with general arrangement drawings.
• Prepare detailed mechanical design drawings documenting components and accessories for orders and timelines.
