Position: Senior Mechanical Designer

Kratos has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Designer to perform general mechanical design tasks as part of the Engineering Services team for a broad range of electromechanical products. The primary functions involve working with systems engineers and product development engineers to plan, conceptualize, and create hardware designs meeting customer requirements. Typical hardware includes electronics packaging such as 19-inch rack enclosures and high-performance antenna-mounted modules.

Key Responsibilities

• Design hardware considering thermal operation, manufacturability, cost, supply chain, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to develop innovative hardware solutions.
• Create detailed CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks or similar tools.

Required Experience

• 5-10 years of engineering experience, preferably with electronic and electromechanical products.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
• Understanding of sheet metal, machining, extrusion, and 3D printing fabrication processes.
• Knowledge of worldwide regulatory compliance standards (EMC, Safety, RoHS).
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with all management levels and build rapport.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and facilitation skills.
• Ability to operate basic shop tools for prototype building and modifications.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience with AutoCAD.

The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $100,000, determined by education, experience, and skills. We offer a competitive salary based on these factors.
