Manatal in Salt Lake City invites a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design from concept through construction on institutional projects. You will work with firm leadership to guide healthcare, K-12, higher education, and government facilities, while mentoring junior engineers.

The role offers hybrid flexibility, ownership of projects, and a path toward office growth within Utah. Ideal candidates have 3–7 years of consulting experience and a strong background in building systems and codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 3–7 years of consulting engineering experience.
• Minimum of 2 years designing institutional building systems.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and institutional systems.
• Experience leading design across multiple phases of development.
• Familiarity with national codes and standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Outlook, Teams, Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design for institutional facilities from schematic through construction.
• Prepare drawings and design docs using Revit and CAD.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables.
• Mentor junior engineers as the Salt Lake City team grows.
• Support business development through proposals and presentations.
• Ensure compliance with national codes and standards.
