• Take equipment concepts from initial design through fabrication, assembly, and testing.
• Design research-grade vacuum chambers and mechanical components, including load locks, vacuum pumping systems, and wafer-handling mechanisms.
• Collaborate with external vendors and manufacturers to ensure fabrication feasibility and performance.
• Integrate vacuum components and develop high-throughput deposition equipment.
• Support robotic automation integration for wafer transfer between chambers.
• Work with engineering teams and vendors to optimize chamber designs for performance, reliability, modularity, and manufacturability.
• Utilize 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo) for design work.
• Manage projects involving custom CVD/PVD system design and vacuum system architecture.
• Apply knowledge of vacuum components, pumps, seals, flanges, and gas delivery systems.
• Ensure custom research-grade equipment meets advanced materials R&D needs.
