Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Turbo Machinery

Job Responsibilities

1. Lead a team to design, calculate, simulate, and analyze mechanical and electrical components and assemblies for high-speed rotating equipment using SolidWorks and other necessary software. Gear Sets, Force lubricated tilt pad bearings, rotor dynamics, aerodynamics and full function design according to master product specification.
2. Validate mechanical-electrical components and assemblies for rotating equipment products by inspecting, testing, and reporting according to inspection test plans and performance test codes, utilizing industrial measurement equipment and methods.
3. Sustain and support new and legacy products throughout their lifecycle by applying change management processes such as engineering change request and engineering change notice.

Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering

Skills and Qualifications (Required)

• 10+ years of professional experience in rotating equipment.
• 10+ years of experience in SolidWorks or related CAD software.
• 10+ years of experience in design and/or manufacturer of geared components.
• 10+ years of experience working with machine shops, foundries, and fabricators.

• Demonstrated ability to work with a broad team of engineers, marketing, creativity for new ideas without the fear of failure
• Ability and experience in building skills and supporting the creativity of others
• Knowledge of testing methods such as NDT, PTC-10, PTC-13 and vibrations.
• Knowledge of fluid film and friction bearings, spur and helical gears and control systems.
