Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of mechanical design experience ideally in transformers or heavy equipment.
• Strong knowledge of materials, fabrication methods and design principles.
• Proficiency in CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Creo, or Inventor.
• Familiarity with IEEE, ANSI, CSA standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components for transformers and related equipment.
• Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models aligned with specifications.
• Perform strength, vibration, thermal expansion, and structural integrity calculations.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers to deliver integrated designs.
• Support manufacturing with technical guidance and design improvements.
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and FMEA activities.
• Collaborate with suppliers on material selection and validation.
• Contribute to testing and continuous product improvement.
