SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for the Starfall program. You will own the design of primary structures, mechanisms, and fluid systems for a high‑cadence re‑entry capsule, applying hand calculations, FEA, and CAD to meet stringent spaceflight requirements.

You will lead design reviews, interact with suppliers and internal teams, and shepherd hardware from inception through launch.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• 5+ years of experience with CAD or FEA software packages.
• 5+ years of hands-on hardware fabrication, assembly, or testing.

Responsabilidades

• Full ownership of primary and secondary structures, mechanisms, and/or fluid systems for Starfall Cargo Vehicle.
• Use hand calculations, FEA, and CAD to meet requirements.
• Lead design reviews and hardware qualifications.
• Interface with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
• Own hardware delivery timeline from inception to launch and reuse.
