Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for the Starfall program. You will own multiple structures and fluid systems, applying hand calculations, FEA, and CAD to ensure hardware meets requirements.

You will lead design reviews and interface with suppliers and production teams, managing hardware delivery from inception to reuse. The role values strong analysis, collaboration, and a hands‑on approach to problem solving in a space‑flight environment with potential travel and security

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering
• 1+ years of experience with CAD or FEA software packages
• 1+ years of hands‑on hardware fabrication, assembly, and/or testing

Responsibilities

• Full ownership of primary and secondary structures, mechanisms, and/or fluid systems for Starfall Cargo Vehicle
• Use hand calculations, FEA, and CAD to meet requirements
• Lead design reviews and hardware qualifications
• Serve as technical interface with suppliers, customers, and internal production/launch teams
• Own the hardware delivery timeline through inception, design, assembly, launch and reuse
