Job summary

Northwood Space in Torrance, CA, is seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to design structures, mechanisms, RF support hardware, and tooling for global ground stations. You will work with RF, electrical, and manufacturing teams to deliver manufacturable solutions from concept to production, ensuring thermal management and high reliability in demanding environments.

The role requires on-site work five days a week, ITAR/EAR considerations, and collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
• 5+ years of hardware design experience.
• Experience from concept to production.
• Ability to design for manufacturability and thermal management.

Responsibilities

• Design multiple product lines, structures, mechanisms, and GSE for satellite ground stations.
• Design RF waveguide filtering and feed structures.
• Create tooling for fabrication, assembly, and test fixtures.
• Collaborate with RF, electrical, and manufacturing teams for system integration.
• Ensure compliance with mechanical, thermal, and environmental design standards.
• Participate in design reviews and provide actionable feedback.
